The supercomputing center at MSU, named the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research, or ICER, celebrated the 20th anniversary of enabling researchers to accelerate their discoveries with MSU’s supercomputer in late February.
Sixty faculty and administrators from MSU joined President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., at 14 stops throughout the Detroit metropolitan area to learn more about the communities in Detroit and how MSU works with partners to support the city’s economic development, advance the arts, transform schools, improve health and protect the environment.

Men May Be More Vulnerable to PFAS in Water Than Women: Study: A recent study examining the long-term presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in human blood following long-term exposure to the chemicals after a paper mill was linked to local drinking water contamination found that women in the low-exposure study group were more successful at eliminating the PFAS from their bodies than men in the same group.
How Climate Change Affects Your Gut Health: A warming world leads to all manner of health problems, including increased risk of cardiovascular disease, exacerbation of pulmonary conditions like asthma and COPD, and mental health problems including depression and anxiety. Increasingly, however, climate change is being implicated in a range of illnesses of the gut, such as diarrheal diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal infection, and more.

To recognize the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as a foundation for university, MSU is using a comprehensive DEI planning process focusing on those values and working in collaboration with the overall strategic planning process.
The RVSM Strategic Plan stems from work by leading researchers and experts in the field to develop a plan for survivor services, prevention efforts, and climate and culture change initiatives.
