During the last Board of Trustees meeting for the 2024 calendar year, outgoing Board Chair Dan Kelly and Trustee Dianne Byrum were each honored for their service, dedication and leadership to the MSU community.
Seventy-seven fall semester graduates accomplished an enviable feat throughout their time at MSU — earning a perfect GPA. During its Dec. 13 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented the graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees Award, which recognizes and honors their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive: a 4.0 GPA.
In the Global Employability University Ranking 2025, published by Times Higher Education, MSU is No. 8 among U.S. public universities and No. 31 in the country overall. The ranking highlights universities that recruiters at top companies believe best prepare students for the workplace.

MSU used an inclusive and comprehensive strategic planning process to create a shared vision for the future and a common set of principles and values to guide our work.
To recognize the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as a foundation for university, MSU is using a comprehensive DEI planning process focusing on those values and working in collaboration with the overall strategic planning process.
The RVSM Strategic Plan stems from work by leading researchers and experts in the field to develop a plan for survivor services, prevention efforts, and climate and culture change initiatives.
