Governor Granholm declares November Return to Learn Month in Michigan

Gov. Jennifer Granholm has declared November to be Return to Learn Month in Michigan to encourage state residents to complete a college degree or other advanced certificate program. Michigan State University is proud to be part of the coalition of higher learning institutions across the state taking part in this effort.

If you are among the 1.5 million Michigan residents who attended college, but didn't quite finish, MSU may be a good place for you to complete your degree. A lot has changed at MSU in the last 10 years with the introduction of online courses, more late afternoon and evening classes and off-campus class locations that make it easier for people to finish their degrees.

You can read Governor Granholm's "Return to Learn" Proclamation.

There are many resources in place at MSU to help you figure out what it would take for you to complete your degree here.  We have academic advisers who can help figure out which credits could count toward your desired degree.

  • The online Degree Navigator can help you create a plan and try different "what if" options to see which classes you need to earn the degree you want.
  • There are financial aid resources available, including the Mildred B. Erickson Fellowship to encourage adult learning.

If you previously attended MSU, you would be readmitting to the university. To obtain the information you need, call (800) 496-4678.

If you were never enrolled at MSU and have college credit from another institution, you will need to apply to the university.
