Council of Racial and Ethnic Students
There are four CORES
groups at MSU. They are the Asian Pacific
American Student Organization, Black
Student Alliance, Culturas
de las Razas Unidas, and North
American Indian Student Organization. Collectively, they were instrumental
in the creation of the Multicultural
Center. Each has an office
in the Center.
APASO, the Asian
Pacific American Student Organization, was founded in 1982. Over the years,
APASO has emerged as the collective political voice of the Asian Pacific
American (APA) student community at Michigan
State University.
APASO is active in presenting programs and activities in social, cultural,
academic and political areas. Meetings are held every other Monday at 7pm and
alternate between the Multicultural
Center and the APASO

Black Student Alliance is committed to promoting unity, academic success,
cultural and political awareness in order to strengthen and uplift the Black
community at Michigan
State University.
BSA provides
enlightening workshops, speakers and cultural activities. The organization is
committed to fostering collegiality and building a strong sense of community
among Black students and Black faculty and staff. (visit our website,

CRU is an organization that houses & supports many of
the Xicano/Latino organizations on campus for
political, social, cultural, and academic issues that address the Xicano/Latino student community at Michigan State
University. CRU also
serves as the cohesive voice of the Latino community by advocating for issues
that affect la comunidad and Latinos in the
university. Xicano, Mexicano,
Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Colombian and other Latino students are
represented in CRU. Xicano/Latino students, faculty,
and staff convene to share ideas and provide information on programs and

The North American
Indian Student Organization (N.A.I.S.O.) is a non-profit organization for
students of Michigan
State University.
Discussion includes NAISO activities and issues and can be a great way to meet
other Native Americans at the MSU community or in the larger Lansing area. (visit our website,
