"Living Skin”: New category of microbes found to dominate Earth's critical zone: James Tiedje, University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, shared new research discovering new microbes in Earth’s deep soil to support life.

“I am seeing my community of researchers decimated”: Dawn Misra, professor and chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the College of Human Medicine, commented on the elimination of federal funding for health research, including work on maternal health disparities that took years to receive funding.

MSU used an inclusive and comprehensive strategic planning process to create a shared vision for the future and a common set of principles and values to guide our work.
