Taking place May 5 and 6 with stops at 12 locations in the Detroit area, MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., and a delegation of faculty and administrators will explore how the partnerships between the city and Michigan State are changing Michigan for the better.

Co-chaired by university alumnus Matt Elliott and Eli Broad College of Business Dean Emeritus and Professor Sanjay Gupta, the council will support MSU in launching a set of initiatives to help strengthen the state’s workforce and economy.

Asteroid discovery overturns long-held belief: Seth Jacobson, assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the College of Natural Science, explained new research on an asteroid discovery that challenges a long-held belief about Vesta, one of the two largest bodies in the solar system’s asteroid belt.

Cancer research in the US is world class because of its broad base of funding − with the government pulling out, its future is uncertain: Jeffrey MacKeigan, professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at the College of Human Medicine, published a Conversation article on the history of cancer research in the U.S. and how there are threats to the future of this important research.

Opinion: We didn't break the climate, but we can help fix it: Jeremy Orr, adjunct professor in the College of Law, published an op-ed on current environmental policies and how to mitigate climate change for Crain’s April forum topic on climate change.

MSU used an inclusive and comprehensive strategic planning process to create a shared vision for the future and a common set of principles and values to guide our work.

To recognize the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as a foundation for university, MSU is using a comprehensive DEI planning process focusing on those values and working in collaboration with the overall strategic planning process.

The RVSM Strategic Plan stems from work by leading researchers and experts in the field to develop a plan for survivor services, prevention efforts, and climate and culture change initiatives.
