Bio

Tomas M. Hult is the Byington Endowed Chair, Director of the International Business Center, and professor in the Eli Broad College of Business. He is one of the world’s leading academic authorities (citations and publications) on international marketing, strategic management, and global supply chains.

Hult is Executive Director of the Academy of International Business, President of the Sheth Foundation, serves on the U.S. District Export Council, and was appointed to the Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission. He serves as associate editor of Journal of Marketing, consulting editor for Journal of International Business Studies, and consulting editor for Journal of Supply Chain Management. He previously served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Hult is one of only 90 Elected Fellows of the Academy of International Business, a prestigious accolade achieved by only the elite international business scholars. In 2016, he was named the #1 marketing professor worldwide by Academy of Marketing Science.

He has been responsible for bringing MSU $15 million in external research funding. His market-share leading textbooks in international business (Global Business Today, International Business) are used worldwide. He has also done several business trade books (Global Supply Chain Management, Total Global Strategy, Second Shift), and had articles published in Time, Fortune, World Economic Forum, and The Conversation.
