Bio

Suresh K. Mukherji, chair of the Michigan State University Department of Radiology, also holds the Walter F. Patenge Endowed Chair. A recognized authority in head and neck and neuroradiology, his primary interests have been focused on investigating emerging metabolic and physiologic imaging techniques to evaluate head and neck cancer and to differentiate recurrent tumors from post-therapeutic changes in previously treated patients.

Mukherji received his M.D. from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. After completing his radiology residency at Harvard Medical School, he attended the University of Florida to complete a neuroradiology fellowship with an emphasis on head and neck imaging. Prior to coming to MSU in 2013, he was a tenured professor and director of neuroradiology at the University of Michigan.  

Mukherji isa senior editor for three journals and a consulting editor at Neuroimaging Clinics of North America and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America. He has been a co-investigator on 25 grants, and published over 260 peer-reviewed articles, 57 reviews, 75 chapters and 13 books.
