Weekly Coronavirus Communications Update - July 2

This week, the state announced a vaccine sweepstakes for all Michiganders who have received a vaccination as part of its effort to increase vaccination rates across Michigan. And there are many more giveaways from businesses across Michigan for individuals who are vaccinated. The benefits of a COVID-19 vaccine go far beyond these incentives, though. One of the most important benefits is that it will protect you, your loved ones and our Spartan community. If you are looking for a location to get a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine, you can visit the MSU Health Care Pharmacy or visit vaccines.gov for a location near you.

I hope you all are able to enjoy a relaxing holiday this weekend, celebrating with friends and loved ones.

Here’s your weekly communications recap:

  • Monday, MSU announced the lifting of most COVID-19 rules. Except for health care settings, MSU is no longer requiring face masks indoors, no longer having capacity limitations in buildings on campus, and no longer requiring those coming to campus to fill out daily health screening forms.
  • The state of Michigan has gathered a list of giveaways from businesses across the state for those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Similarly, on Thursday, the Governor has also announced a vaccination sweepstakes for the state, with a chance to win up to $2 million and thousands in college scholarships.
