Welcome to my homepage. In case you stumbled across this page by accident, I suggest you take the following link, it is bound to be more exciting than this page. However, if you have some interest in who I am, welcome to my page. First, a few details about my academic history.
Following graduation with a Doctorate in Human Performance (emphasis in Exercise Physiology), I spent two wonderful years as an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at St. Louis University School of Medicine in the Department of Physiology.
I obtained my first "real job" in 1984 in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston. After seven years, I took a position in the Texas Medical Center (a truly amazing place!). For the next three years, I was Director of the Wellness Center at Texas Children's Hospital, and a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine.
Although my ten years in Houston were most rewarding, I had an opportunity to take a position at Michigan State University in 1994. I am currently a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, and also the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties here at MSU. While there are many things I miss about Houston, this was a great move for me and I have never looked back.
I've put up a few pics related to my life in Michigan on the next page. I hope you like them. Just click on the thumbnail images to see an enlarged version.
We are currently doing some wonderful things in the Human Energy Research Laboratory (HERL) here at Michigan State University. Please visit the HERL homepage for further information.
Before leaving, please say hi to Linda, Hoagy, and Bogie!!
