Facts about Visual Imapairments:
285 million people world wide are visually impaired--39 million are blind and 246 million have low vision
Uncorrected refractive errors (i.e. myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism) are the main cause of visual impairments, especially in developing countries
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in middle and low income countries

4 Levels of Visual Impairments (ICD-10)
Normal Vision
Moderate Visual Impairment
Severe Visual Impairment

Various Etiologies that Cause Visual Impairments:

Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Diabetic Retinopathy
Congenital Blindness
Trauma to Ocular Nerve or Eye
