ZOL 824 Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry:

An intensive 1 week lecture and laboratory course offered through the Department of Zoology at Michigan State University in early May. The course provides a foundation of the principles of stable isotope chemistry applied to biogeochemical problems: climate change, ecology, contaminants, oceanography, limnology and paleobiology. The laboratory part of the course includes proper sample acquisition and preparation methods and exercises related to microbial cultures in isotope biogeochemistry, GC-IRMS, H and O isotopes in ecology and primary productivity and analysis of N2O isotopomers.
