Purpose of the Study

To characterize the Michigan apparel and textiles industry in terms of size, location, labor, communications technology, nature and dollar value of products, and markets.

To conduct a needs assessment of apparel and textile manufacturers in Michigan with respect to continuing education and electronics communication and networking.

To identify effective ways to increase economic viability and employment potential, and thus support sustainable community development for entrepreneurs in the apparel and textile complex through access to emerging technologies and "growth-from-within" policies.
