St. Patrick's Day Afghan

Material: Worsted Weight yarn US needle size #7 or size to get guage

Gauge: 5 sts and 6 rows = 1" in stocking st

Abv. K - Knit P - Purl RS - Right side St - Stitch K2tog - Knit two together. M1 - Make one by picking up the st below and placing it on the needle and knitting it.

*NOTE -chart does not show the 4 stitiches of seed st at the sides or the 7 rows top and bottom of the block.

*NOTE- All even numbers of the chart are the right side of the square.

Cast on 51 st.

Rows 1 - 7 Knit seed st (K1, P1 across)

Row 8 (RS) K1, P1, K1, P1, Knit increasing 8 st (M1) evenly across to last 4 st, P1, K1, P1, K1. (59 st)

Row 9 Start following chart (9 - 28) and repeat rows 9 - 28 of the chart 3 times keeping the first 4 and last 4 sts in seed st as established.

Next row - Repeat rows 9-13 one time to finish out the chart.

Next row- K1, P1, K1, P1, Knit across dec 8 st (K2tog) evenly to the last 4 st, P1, K1, P1, K1. (51 st)

Last 7 rows - Knit 7 rows seed st

Bind off.
