New Funding from NSF

Beth and colleagues Michael Steele and Janine Remillard have been awarded a three-year grant from the National Science Foundation to study schools as they work to meet calls for universal early algebra. Read more.

New Publications in ESM

See the new volume of Educational Studies in Mathematics for two of Beth’s recently published articles (see the full references). Both are related to secondary mathematics classroom discourse, in particular, on lexical bundles and their implications for classroom authority and positioning.

Beth Receives Award from AMTE

In January 2010, Beth was awarded the Early Career Award from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators. She will

have a piece in the upcoming AMTE Connections Newsletter and will do a mentoring session at the 2011 Annual Conference of AMTE.

NSF Professional Development Grant

Beth and her colleagues Michael Steele and Michelle Cirillo are currently working on a project titled “Mathematics Discourse in

Secondary Classrooms (M-DISC): A Case-Based Professional Development Curriculum” (funded by the National Science Foundation).
