the fox v.3 (nate121d)

I first wrote this piece in 2004 as a solo piano and voice song, but reinterpreted it in the spring of 2005 for my composition lessons. V.2 still had piano and all the vocals, but no other keyboards and less effects processing on the whole. Here are the lyrics; email me if you want to know what they mean to me. :)

(well, you smote the fox)
she doesn't use the telephone,
the books she reads just make her sadder
in english, she can kill a lonely fox, or deadly adder

she knows the touch but fails to try:
her hopes are too constricting.
the love she had was slowly spent:
their moods were too conflicting.

aspirations, inclinations killed the fox's will to hunt
hallucinations, confrontations destroyed it with adornment

while I feel like a poor man,
no matter what she does, she's still alone.

aspirations, inclinations killed the fox's will to hunt
hallucinations, confrontations: just as she joined the tournament

but she seems to like it this way,
so I guess it's ok.
