Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

What makes a bird a bird?

Well, all birds:

birdsbut that’s about all they have in common. They can be two inches long, like the Bee hummingbird, or they can be more than six feet tall, like the ostrich! They can be all the colors of the rainbow, and then some! They can run, fly and swim. Birds are amazing creatures!

Where can I see birds?

You can find birds on all seven continents, and the five oceans. Of course, you don’t need to go to exotic places to see birds. In fact, you can see plenty of birds right in your backyard.
