Currently, Deng is beginning a second monograph on Shakespeare’s immersion in and transformation of early modern business culture, especially through the cultural impacts of various financial "innovations" in mathematics (the adoption of the concept of zero), accounting practices, insurance and credit. He has presented conference papers on various parts of the project, including:
