What are the limnological determinants of tropical aquaculture?

I have been trained as a general limnologist with an emphasis on aquatic macrophytes. For over a decade I have been involved with an international program dealing with tropical pond dynamics and aquacultural production. Understanding the dynamic interactions between physical, chemical and biological components of small, tropical ponds has allowed for increasing production of aquacultural species. Our efforts were concentrated in Indonesia and Thailand but our findings have applicability to other low altitude, tropical ponds.

I am also interested in biological resources of the Laurentian Great Lakes, particularly emergent wetlands.
