Christopher Fahnoe

I am currently serving as the Director of Technology and Assessment for Arlington Heights School District 25 in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

My wife and I have three wonderful children who not only keep us busy but inspire us, make us laugh, keep us mentally young, and remind us that playing is not pointless.

I am a Ph.D. candidate at Michigan State University in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology Program (EPET).

I have a Masters in Education Administration from Roosevelt University and an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Northwestern University.

I am interested in the role of flexible technology resources and virtual experiences (including augmented reality, microworlds, and gaming) in the relationship between teacher, learner, and content in K-8 classrooms.

Specifically, I am interested in how technology can change teacher-centered, content-directed environments with passive learners into active learning centers where students are highly motivated, self-regulated, and engaged through choice and ownership of the content.

Research Interests

I have worked for the district for over ten years as a computer lab teacher (6-8), engaged learning facilitator (K-8), assistant principal (K-5) and principal (K-5)
