Japanese is a fantastic, horribly difficult langauge. Greg loves the culture and has been to Japan, as well as hosted two Japanese foreign exchange students. Thus, providing him the motivation to learn so he can properly converse with his Japanese friends. Greg is unsure whether or not he wants to pursue a minor or specialization in Japanese. He wants to, but is lacking confidence in his ability to learn it.
If he is able to, knowing Japanese will greatly help Greg is the business place as well as giving him knowledge of a new culture. Plus it's fun, what a plus.
This is cleary the most diffucult part of learning Japanese (for Greg at least). It is all symbols that are actually Chinese characters that the Japanese "borrowed" when creating their language and has evolved over time so that it is now incorporated in everyday usage.
