I am a PhD student in the Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University in my final year. I am working with Michael Shapiro and my interests lie in "combinatorics" or maybe more accurately "algebraic combinatorics." I am interested in both purely combinatorial problems as well as connections with other areas such as algebra, geometry, computer science, and physics. Specific things I am currently thinking about include:

- The totally nonnegative Grassmannian, Postnikov's boundary measurement map, and generalizations.
- Combinatorial Hopf algebras and the (quasi)symmetric functions which arise.
- Poisson algebras/varieties and their connections to cluster algebras.
