Andrei Shevchenko

I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Michigan State University. I am not that soccer guy you are most likely searching for, but anyway many thanks to all of you who send everyday emails supporting me and asking for an autograph - I also love soccer and root for that guy.

My general research interests lie in the area of macroeconomics and monetary theory with particular emphasis on the way different formal and informal institutions, like money, intermediation, social norms, help reduce various types of frictions in the economy. I am also interested in the way search frictions in the labor market affect economic outcomes related to international trade.
