Salsa Verde was founded in 2008 as an opportunity for MSU College of Music students to play salsa music. Since that time, Salsa Verde has played concerts, festivals, dances, recitals, benefits, cultural events, and outreach throughout Michigan.  Salsa Verde performs songs by Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Gloria Estefan, Wayne Gorbea, Poncho Sanchez, Celia Cruz, Sonora Carruseles, Fruko y Sus Tesos, and others. Many of the works are arrangements or original tunes by members of Salsa Verde.  The members of Salsa Verde are students or faculty of the MSU College of Music.
