Ranjani Krishnan is the Ernest W. and Robert W. Schaberg Endowed Chair in Accounting. She teaches management accounting and value chain analytics at the EMBA, MBA, and PhD levels. She received her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and joined MSU’s faculty in 1998.
Krishnan received Best Paper Awards at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting (2015) and Journal of Management Accounting Research, (2013), the Greatest Impact on Managerial Accounting Practice Award (2012), the Notable Contribution to Accounting Research Award (2006), the Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award (2005), and the 1999 McLaughlin Prize for Research in Accounting Ethics. She has also received MSU research and teaching awards including the Teacher-Scholar, Withrow, and EMBA teaching excellence award (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017).
Krishnan is currently editor of Accounting, Organizations, and Society and Management Science, and served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Management Accounting Research and editor of the Accounting Review. Her research on cost and managerial accounting, management control, and health care has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Strategic Management Journal, and the Accounting Review.
