Bio

Marisa Fisher is Red Cedar Distinguished Professor of Special Education and the executive director of the MSU Center for Services, Training, and Research for Independence and Desired Employment, or STRIDE.

Dr. Fisher’s community-based engagement informs her programmatic research and addresses unmet needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through two interrelated lines of research. She (1) identifies experiences and factors related to poor psychosocial outcomes; and (2) designs and evaluates interventions to improve outcomes.
