Bio

Laura Lee McIntyre is the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Michigan State University and a MSU Research Foundation Professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education.

She holds a courtesy research professor appointment in the College of Education and the Prevention Science Institute at the University of Oregon. She previously served as dean of the College of Education at UO, department head of Special Education and Clinical Sciences, and director of the Prevention Science Institute. While at Oregon she held the Castle-McIntosh-Knight Professor in school psychology.

McIntyre’s research focuses on children’s mental and behavioral health, special education, and prevention and intervention to promote child and family well-being in vulnerable and underserved populations. She is known for her work in early childhood, autism, family-centered interventions, and family–school partnerships for children with disabilities. Her current research is funded by NIH/NICHD.

Dr. McIntyre has held professional certifications including Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), certified school psychologist, and board licensed psychologist. She has professional experiences in both school and hospital settings and held faculty positions at Syracuse University from 2003 – 2009, SUNY Update Medical University from 2005–2009, and the University of Oregon from 2009-2025.
