Bio

Siva Nadimpalli is the G. Glenn and Marlene D. Gardner Endowed Professor of Automotive Engineering and the principal investigator in the Experimental Solid Mechanics Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. There, his research focuses on the mechanics of deformation, fracture, degradation, and failure of materials in order to understand the role of mechanics in the degradation of rechargeable batteries (i.e. lithium-ion and sodium-ion) to enable more durable and lightweight battery designs.
