July 29: COVID-19 vaccine survey response due Aug. 6

Dear Spartan Students,

As we announced last week, MSU is requiring all students to fill out a brief survey on whether they have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The survey is now live and can be accessed at https://go.msu.edu/vaccinesurvey. Responses are required by Friday, Aug. 6, and all students who complete the survey will receive $20 into their Spartan Cash account. In addition, students who have been fully vaccinated or have at least received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine by Aug. 6 will be eligible to win one of 20 cash prizes of $1,000 each. The winners of the cash prizes will be drawn in late August and winners will be notified by email. Students can update their responses to the survey if they receive a vaccine dose before the deadline.

The information gathered during this survey, in addition to nonidentifiable information already on file with the university, will be essential for our planning as we approach the fall semester. As a reminder, the survey data will be kept secure and reviewed only in aggregate by MSU leadership and public health professionals. Personally identifiable information will not be shared with the public, faculty, classmates or supervisors. MSU will publicly share general data on vaccination rates among students, faculty and staff.

Now is the time to act if you have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine. All members of the MSU community can receive a free COVID-19 vaccination through the MSU Health Care Pharmacy. For those not in the East Lansing area, visit vaccines.gov to find a U.S. vaccination site near you. International students and scholars should seek out a WHO-approved vaccine.

Thank you for your cooperation.
