Statement on FRIB funding (Sept. 21, 2018)

The final conference agreement for the Fiscal Year 2019 Energy and Water-Military Construction-Veterans Affairs-Legislative Branch minibus appropriations bill was passed by the Senate and the House on Sept. 12 and 13 respectively and signed by President Trump Sept. 21. The bill includes $75 million for the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at MSU funded by the Department of Energy Office of Science. The MSU community is grateful for the appropriation, which supports continued construction of this internationally impactful research facility.

MSU appreciates that FRIB remains a national priority, and thanks the Michigan congressional delegation for its leadership and unwavering support.
